Impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), on tourism and financial services trade in selected countries

One of the most wonderful phenomena in the recent decade is the spurt growth of ICT, especially the Internet, so that has conquered all arenas of economic activity, including services trade. Hence, this paper examines the impact of information and communication technology (ICT) on tourism and financial services trade using combined data (panel) during the period 2000 to 2012 for selected countries. To test whether an increase in ICT, increases tourism and financial services trade, a econometric model is used. Although the case study countries are different in terms of economic growth criteria, the result of the paper shows that In selected countries, ICT has a positive and significant effect on tourism services trade, and also has a significant and positive effect on trade in financial services
